What changed
We summarised CPSC and American Academy of Pediatrics guidance as 'advise against e-bikes for children under 9, and recommend kids 9-12 not exceed about 10 mph'. The source is stricter than that, and says so explicitly.
Detail
Reading the AAP's own page rather than relying on our summary of it, the wording is: 'The Consumer Product Safety Commission recommends that children age 9 through 12 years should not operate any product that travels faster than 10 mph. That means no e-bikes under 12 years.' Our version reported the first half and omitted the conclusion the authority itself draws. Because an e-bike exceeds 10 mph by definition, the AAP's floor is 12, not 9 - so our framing implied a nine-year-old could ride a speed-capped machine when the cited authority says otherwise. Corrected across five pages, now quoting the source rather than paraphrasing it, and both sources are cited on the page for the first time.

What changed
We listed the SS 3.0 at 62 mph. E-Ride publishes 60 mph. The 62 was transcribed from the range row of the same spec table, which reads '62+ MILES @25mph'.
Detail
Neither source we cite supports 62 mph: E-Ride's own page says 60, and the dealer lists it as shipping restricted to 20 mph out of the box. The claimed range was wrong too, at 64 against the manufacturer's 62. A number that migrates between rows of the same table is a specific and repeatable failure, and it is invisible to a checker that only asks whether a figure appears somewhere on the source page.

Two verdicts flipped. Against the Segway Xaber 300 we had called top speed for the SS 3.0 at 62 to 60; both are 60, so it is a tie. Against the Sur-Ron Ultra Bee we called it a win at 62 to 59; one mile per hour is inside the noise, so it is level. And the SS 2.0 comparison is now stronger than we wrote it: the two bikes have identical top speeds, so the upgrade buys battery, power and features, not speed.

VALTINSU EM-5 Pro Review (2026)

What changed
We described the VALTINSU EM-5 Pro as carrying a UL 2849 safety certification and recommended it as the 'safest budget pick' on that basis. VALTINSU publishes no UL certification of any kind.
Detail
The claim was in the review's title, its verdict, two FAQ answers and the comparison section, and it drove a 'safest budget' or 'safety-certified' slot across eight further pages. Re-checking VALTINSU's own product page found no UL string on it at all; the only certification word is a CE-marked charger, alongside an IPX6 rating. The dealer we cite publishes nothing either. The certification was ours, not theirs. Two related claims were withdrawn at the same time -- a UL-certified battery on the Yozma IN10 and UL 2849 certification on the GT73 -- and one was added: the Razor MX650's spec page names both UL 2272 and the lab that tested it, which we had never mentioned.

What changed
We described the DK1 as a bike you could 'safely hand a toddler' and said its 5 mph mode aligned with CPSC and American Academy of Pediatrics guidance. That inverted the guidance.
Detail
The CPSC and the AAP advise against e-bikes for children under 9, and recommend that children aged 9 to 12 stay under about 10 mph. Our own kids page states this correctly. The DK1 review contradicted it in three places, including inside the FAQ block - which is marked up as structured data and eligible to be extracted directly into a search result. All three passages now state what the authorities actually say, and attribute the age-3 rating to Hiboy rather than to us.

Detail
VoltRipper is spec-verified rather than hands-on, and our own range guide says plainly that our figures are estimates and not measurements. The heading claimed a first-hand measurement we never made, and as an H2 it was a prime candidate for extraction into a search result. It now reads 'the best-evidenced real number in the class', which is what the underlying sourcing actually supports.

Detail
The prose version of this sentence had already been corrected weeks earlier to 'Independent testing has flagged'. The copy stored in our catalog database was never updated, so the uncorrected version kept rendering under Trade-offs. This is a defect class worth naming: the same claim can live in two places, and fixing one is not fixing it.

Electric Dirt Bike Charging Guide

What changed
The charging guide never once said to charge attended, while recommending that readers carry a removable battery indoors to charge in an apartment.
Detail
The words attended, unattended, overnight and fire did not appear anywhere in the guide. Our own safety-gear guide already carried the correct advice - charge attended, never while sleeping, on a hard surface away from your exit. The charging guide, which is where a reader actually goes for this, was missing it entirely. We have added the section, led by the rule people break first, plus the lease and renter's-insurance check that decides whether indoor charging is even permitted.

What changed
We claimed 'statute-sourced legality pages for all 50 states' and that we 're-verify them against primary sources continuously'. Neither was true.
Detail
Measured against our own data: 15 states carried no statutory reference at all, 11 states cited a commercial source rather than a statute, and 11 states rested on three or fewer sources. Texas and New York had two sources each and no statute number between them. The dataset had also not been updated since 19 July, which is not 'continuously'. Both claims are now corrected to what is actually true, and a primary-source repair pass is underway on the largest states first.

We said the GasGas and KTM sit lower than the Husqvarna, and told readers to buy the GasGas on that basis. It was backwards.
Detail
The comparison was wrong twice over. It put the KTM and GasGas minimum seat height against the Husqvarna's standard setting, and the 674 mm figure we used for the Husqvarna was itself an error carried from our own research notes - Husqvarna publishes 665 mm. Re-verified against all three rendered manufacturer model pages: the Husqvarna reaches lower than its siblings at every no-accessory setting.
