Gifts for Sur-Ron Owners (2026): What They Do Not Already Have

Sur-Ron owners are the hardest people in this category to buy for, for a good reason: the Light Bee has the deepest aftermarket of any bike in the class, and anyone who has owned one for a season has already bought the parts they most wanted. Buying them another one is how you end up with a duplicate.

So this page is organised the other way round. First the things that fit both current Sur-Ons and that owners reliably do not own, then the model-specific parts — with the fitment question you have to settle before you touch that section.

Fits both bikes, and they probably do not own it

The most-recommended and least-owned item among people who work on their own bikes. Every chain, wheel and brake job is done on the floor until someone buys them a stand.

Levers snap in the first tip-over and a snapped lever ends the ride. Handguards are the cheapest insurance against the most common trail failure.

The fitment question, before you go further

Sur-Ron sells two current bikes in the US and they are not the same machine underneath. The Light Bee X and the Ultra Bee use different forks, different rear shocks and different wheel sizes. Anything structural bought for one is wrong for the other.

There is now a third complication. Sur-Ron listed a Light Bee 2 on its US site this year, with a different pack voltage from the Light Bee X. If the person you are buying for has ordered one, treat every electrical accessory on this page as unverified for their bike until it arrives.

If they ride a Light Bee X

Twenty-one items in our catalog fit this bike. The ones an owner is most likely to still need:

The 0.75-inch link, which is the one that suits stock, 16/19 or 18/21 wheels — it steepens the front to plant it in turns and cut wheelie on climbs. Warp 9's 1.5-inch version is only for a bike already running a 21-inch front and tips a stock bike nose-down.

Only for the stock KKE shock, and only if the rider is heavy enough to need it — 550 lb suits a rider around 190 to 200 lb in normal riding. This is the cheapest real suspension improvement available on the bike.

For the bigger gift, the fork is the single upgrade that changes the bike most:

Note the model-year exclusion on this one: KKE lists Light Bee X fitment as 2019 to 2021 and 2023 to 2024, not 2022. If their bike is a 2022, this is the wrong fork.

If they ride an Ultra Bee

Thirteen items fit. The Ultra Bee is the newer platform and its aftermarket is thinner, which makes the gifts more obvious:

The 37 mm SKF kit fits the Ultra Bee's stock KKE fork. One kit does one leg — buy two. It is also the wrong kit for a stock Light Bee X, whose DNM fork is 35 mm.

The big one. An 18/21 wheel set turns the Ultra Bee into a full-size-wheel bike, which is the change serious riders make and almost nobody buys for themselves.

Riding gear, which fits the rider rather than the bike

If the owner has spent two years upgrading the bike and is still riding in trainers and a bicycle helmet — which is more common than it should be — this is the gift that matters most.

Never buy blind

A battery or a charger. Voltage class, connector and battery-management behaviour vary by model and by revision within a model, and the Light Bee 2 uses a different pack voltage again. A mismatched charger is a fire risk, not a return.

Anything sold as "fits Sur-Ron" without naming the model and year. That phrase covers three different bikes and at least four generations.

The bottom line

Buy from the first section unless you know exactly which bike they own. A stand, handguards, a torque wrench and chain lube are the four things Sur-Ron owners consistently do not have, they fit every current model, and none of them duplicates a part the owner has already agonised over.
