The short answer

Despite sharing a brand, these two aren't the same bike at two power levels — they're different classes of machine for different riders:

• Buy the Arctic Leopard XF Pro ($3,699, Score 86) if you want a light, compact, affordable trail bike — 12 kW, 60 mph, and a manageable 127-lb chassis on 17/14 wheels. It's a Sur-Ron Light Bee-class value pick, and the intermediate-friendly one.
• Buy the Arctic Leopard XE Pro R ($5,699, Score 91) if you want a full-size enduro — 21/18 wheels, more than double the power (26.5 kW), a 74V/4,440 Wh pack, and a 72 mph claim, at a full-size 175 lb. It's an expert-level, Sur-Ron Ultra Bee-class machine.

The real question isn't "is the upgrade worth it?" — it's "do you want a compact trail bike or a full-size enduro?" The $2,000 gap buys a genuinely bigger, faster, more capable bike, not a trim bump.

Two different bikes, one badge

The XF Pro is the compact end of Arctic Leopard's line: 17/14 wheels, 127 lb, 12 kW, 60 mph — a light, flickable play bike that competes with the Sur-Ron Light Bee X and Talaria Stings on value. The XE Pro R is the full-size end: 21-inch front / 18-inch rear wheels, 175 lb, 26.5 kW, a 72 mph claim — a real enduro aimed at the Sur-Ron Ultra Bee and Talaria Komodo tier. They ride, fit, and feel like different bikes because they are — the XF Pro is about approachable light-trail fun, the XE Pro R about full-size capability.

The core matchup

Head-to-head, factor by factor

Class & stature → different bikes. The XF Pro rides on compact 17/14 wheels; the XE Pro R on full-size 21/18 wheels. That's the defining difference: the XE Pro R rolls obstacles, carries speed over rough ground, and stands taller like a real enduro, while the XF Pro is the smaller, more playful, easier-to-manage machine. Everything else follows from this split.

Power & torque → XE Pro R, by a lot. The XE Pro R makes 26.5 kW peak to the XF Pro's 12 kW — more than double — and 700 N·m to 342 N·m, roughly twice the torque. Combined with a bigger 74V pack, it pulls in a completely different league. The XF Pro's 12 kW is genuinely strong for its class and price, but this isn't close.

Weight & fit → XF Pro, decisively. At 127 lb the XF Pro is 48 lb lighter than the 175 lb XE Pro R, with a slightly lower seat (33.25 vs 34.3 in). That makes it far easier to flick, pick up, load, and manage at a stop — and it's a big reason we rate it intermediate while the XE Pro R is expert. For a smaller or newer rider, the XF Pro is the far more forgiving bike.

Battery & range → XE Pro R. The XE Pro R carries a 4,440 Wh (74V) pack versus the XF Pro's 2,520 Wh (72V) — about 76% more energy — with a 60-mile claim to the XF Pro's 50. Both are optimistic low-speed figures (plan under them on the trail), but the XE Pro R's much larger battery is a real range and headroom advantage that its higher power draw needs.

Top speed → XE Pro R on paper, with a caveat. The XE Pro R claims 72 mph to the XF Pro's 60 — but the XE Pro R's number isn't settled: some dealers list it at 63 mph, so treat 72 as a best-case claim, not a confirmed figure (more in the XE Pro R review). Even at a conservative reading, it's the faster bike.

Price & value → XF Pro. $3,699 vs $5,699 — $2,000 less. For a rider who wants a light, capable trail bike and doesn't need full-size power, the XF Pro is one of the strongest value picks in the compact class. The XE Pro R is also good value for a full-size enduro — it undercuts the Ultra Bee — but it's a fundamentally pricier bike.

Support → shared, and worth noting. Both are the same newer import brand, so both carry the same caveat: a thinner aftermarket, community, and resale history than Sur-Ron or Talaria, and unstated warranties in our data. That's the common risk with either Arctic Leopard — factor it into both.
